GHANATIN.COM - TAX IDENTIFICATION PLATFORM

Originally deployed as Ghana’s national Tax Identification Number (TIN) registration platform for the Ghana Revenue Authority, GhanaTIN.com has since been repurposed and expanded into a comprehensive E-Commerce Registration Platform. The platform now addresses the critical policy objective of ensuring that companies — including non-resident digital businesses — pay tax in the countries where they sell their products and services, rather than wherever they choose to declare their profits. This drives greater tax revenues for Ghana at all levels of government.

Origin & Historic Foundation – The TIN Platform:

Digital Innova’s initial engagement with GRA centered on TIN generation and management. The impact was immediate and measurable: over 200,000 TINs were generated within just seven months of deployment. The scope of that foundational engagement included:

  • Generation of over 200,000 TINs within the first seven months of deployment
  • Training and onboarding of all Commercial Banks, Savings & Loan companies, Insurance Companies, and Rural Banks for TIN generation and verification
  • Integration with the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) for identity verification

Current Platform – E-Commerce Registration for GRA:

The platform has been evolved into GRA’s primary tool for registering and managing digital and e-commerce taxpayers — with particular focus on non-resident businesses operating in Ghana’s digital economy. Key capabilities of the current platform include:
